Abstract:Shepu is an important part of the classical gardens and urban public buildings of suzhou , and it is also the place to reflect the traditional thoughts of Chinese confucianism and its educational order. Through extensive research and analysis of historical materials such as ancient books and local chronicles, this paper explains the evolution of Shepu, interprets changes of Shepu names, and focuses on the type of gardens to which Shepu belongs, as well as its location, structure, composition, and characteristics. This study is of great significance for clarifying the historical context of the development of the classical gardens of Suzhou.
