Abstract:The color of historical buildings carries rich cultural information, which is of great significance for enhancing the cultural connotation of urban color planning and urban tourism branding. This article quantitatively analyzes the color datas of 51 historical buildings along the Great Canal in Tianjin. Summarizes the color characteristics and relationships of different periods and styles architectures in terms of hue,value and chroma. Then explores the cultural motivations behind them from the perspectives of natural geography and humanistic society. Hope the research can provide a bit of references for protecting the Grand Canal cultures, as well as the construction of Tianjin’s tourism brand.
