Abstract:Narrative is the endogenous gene of classical Chinese gardens, and studying the stories and plots presented by garden space is conducive to establishing the connection between space and people. Based on the imitation relationship between Huishan Garden and Jichang Garden, this paper takes the two gardens as an example, takes a total of 243 poems related to Jichang Garden and Huishan Garden in the Ming and Qing dynasties as original corpus data, and explores their narrative elements, narrative scenes and narrative themes with the help of semantic network analysis, and then compares the two gardens horizontally. As a result, although Huishan Garden is an imitation of Jichang Garden, it is mainly manifested in its parody of its narrative elements, and its narrative scenes and narrative themes vary according to the owner of the garden. Through the traceability of the narrative structure of the garden, the restoration and reconstruction of the garden provides a reference for“meaning”in addition to the material level.
