Abstract:he Jin Dynasty Great Wall shares the hierarchical, holistic, and systematic characteristics common to all Chinese Great Walls, while also exhibiting distinctive“nomadic features”in its planning and layout. This paper, through field investigations and historical records, preliminarily explores the influencing factors of the Jin Great Wall's defensive system planning, primarily focusing on political, military, and natural geographical environments. Based on natural geographical factors, the planning and layout are categorized into four typical types, which are then analyzed with specific examples.
